Hello!
Today I’m sharing a very belated January reading wrap-up. I feel pleasantly surprised about how my reading went in January. Every month since giving birth I hold my breath and expect my reading to just kind of- stop. Instead it has been such a gift and something I look forward to every day.
When I went to write this post I found myself wishing I could talk to you all about my January reads, so I decided to do just that! Below is a little podcast style recap of my reading in January. Make yourself a cup of tea and think of it as us sitting down to chat together.
I hope you enjoy it! I haven’t talked on a mic in a while, so it definitely will take a bit to get in a rhythm. I plan on having an audio version for each of my monthly wrap-ups.
If you would prefer to just keep reading and skip the audio, below I have a brief summary of everything I read last month. But, I hope you try the audio!
Beg, Borrow, or Steal by Sarah Adams: an enemies-to-lovers small town rom-com. This is the third (and my favorite so far!) in the When in Rome series. I made a fun mood board of this book that you can see here.
Three Days in June by Anne Tyler: a quiet family story that follows Gail in the day leading up to her daughter’s wedding. Thoughtful with lots of heart- I loved this short novel so much.
Rental House by Weike Wang: a book all about what it looks like to build a marriage and the discussions you have with your partner. A great look at in-law dynamics, class, and the early years of marriage. Wang’s writing is sharp and witty.
The Love Lyric by Kristina Forest: a celebrity / normal person rom-com in Kristina Forest’s Greene Sisters series. Kristina Forest writes about grief with so much grace in this book. Here is my full review.
Big Fan by Alexandra Romanoff: is another celebrity / normal person rom-com, this one about meeting your middle school crush. I had so much fun reading this! It’s smart and the chemistry between the characters is so good.
Have you read and loved any of these? Let me know below!

I am so happy you are finding the joy in reading for yourself in the early months of motherhood, Megan! All of these sound so good.
Megan, I love hearing the audio of your recap! I can’t wait to dive in to Beg, Borrow, or Steal and also loved Three Days in June this month ◡̈
